Review: Kraven

Kraven Kraven by Laurann Dohner
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

mmm no. Batina (Bat) was a stuck up bitch. I feel like there is a line when it comes to strong heroines. A line that separates the bitches from the strong and Bat was a BITCH . Let's jump past the beginning because I wouldn't believe it if someone told me they were a vamp/lycan. I would not have been as bitchy as Bat was but I would not have believed him either. So yeah let's jump past that. Bat and Kraven are running for their lives. They are on their way to LA to see the doctor that took care of Bat and her sister. And on this long ass road trip Bat refused to eat fast food. She had to be taken to a nice restaurant. Bitch please. People want you dead!!!!! She also "shopped" at the gas stations, instead of running in there grabbing chips and running out she freaking shopped around! She refused to listen to Kraven when he wanted to leave her apartment because it wasn't safe. She refused to even consider living in Alaska with Kraven even though it was obvious the city was painful to him. She also hated the way Kraven dressed and did his hair. It wasn't good enough to meet her boss. She was just a freaking bitch.

And honestly Kraven was kind of terrible too. At first he was. He was better than Bat. He at least wanted to try and make her happy where Bat just wanted to make Bat happy.

Besides me hating Bat with all of my freaking soul, I hated that this book overlapped the first book. I hate, HATE when books do that. Because I already kind of know what happens. I am just seeing it from a different perspective. Yes some things are obviously different but ultimately the stories are the same.

So this was a huge freaking no for me. I hated everything and I mean everything about it.

Review: Blaze

Blaze Blaze by Donna Grant
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So I enjoyed this book... It was good, not great. When I think about all the dragon kings books this one does not stand out. It just kind of fades into the storyline as whole. Which is fine you know. With a series that has been going on for as long as this one has it's bound to happen. What I really got out of this book is that I want to go back and re-read the warriors books. I miss those characters. I loved that they were involved in this book.

Our main characters were Anson and Devon. Devon worked for the company that was responsible for attacks to the Dragon Kings and their mates in the past and the company has information on all of the Kings. They talk Devon into helping them find out how they got that information. Devon agrees because she had no idea the company she worked for was evil. Anson is kind of her body guard and they fall in love.

Really that's about all that happens. It's kind of the same story as a lot of the other books. And again that is totally fine! Because it was still an enjoyable story but I am ready for more things to happen in the series plot line. This book felt like a filler. And I am pretty sure I said that about the last book as well. So it's time for some action to happen.

Will I read the next one? Hell freaking yes I will. I am completely obsessed with theses characters. I love the warriors, the druids and the Kings!

Review: Storm

Storm Storm by Carian Cole
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

**SPOILERS** kind of..

I wanted to like this book more than I did. I LOVED the start of it. Evie and Storm were hilarious. Evie has a boyfriend. Okay whatever she'll end it with him and be with Storm but it takes her almost the whole freaking book to leave him and I couldn't stand that. Evie has depression issues and she has self esteem issues and she ends up kind of needy and whiney.

I loved Storm. He was sexy as hell. He was a dirty talker. He was insanely honest and I think that that would be a huge issue for a rock star. So yay for him. BUT some of the conversations were extremely childish. It's just not realistic the way he acts with Evie.

Iiiii... I don't know. I can't decide about this book. I don't know if I ended up hating it because Evie turned into a weak whiney chick and I wanted to yell at her the whole book or if this story just didn't work for me..

I'll probably end up reading the next book. Eventually.

Review: Lord of Shadows

Lord of Shadows Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let me start off by saying that this is a huge book. I listened to the audio at work. So I got a solid 8-9 hours of listening and it took me 2 and a half days to finish the book. I can usually get through 1.5 books a day at work (I listen to them at 2x on the OverDrive App) So yeah it was looooong. But it was so good that it didn't bother me.

This book kind of broke my heart a little bit. The whole forbidden love thing really gets to me and I know that Clare loves adding those into her books. And it's not like I didn't know it was going to be in here but it was worse in this book. Not only was there Emma and Julian but then we had the whole weird love triangle with Mark, Cristina , and Kieran. And then there was the Ty, Livey and Kit situation. Livey and Kit kiss but then they decide they weren't meant to be like that. Ty and Kit are awesome together. Are they being set up to date or to be parabatai? I don't care but I need more of them together.

.. that veered off topic. Honestly the love triangle with Mark, Cristina and Kieran kind of overshadowed a lot of the plot for me. I love Cassandra Clare. I understand that all of her books have hard romances. but I feel like she had 3 maybe 4 maybe 5 different sets of difficult romances going on in one book and that's just too freaking many.

So because I have just spent 20 mins typing about the relationships.. I'm now over writing about this book. so quick wrap up. The book was fantastic. Like the first book I loved all the action and the actual storyline. I could do without the romances in this series so far though. The beginning of this book broke my heart, the middle made me happy and then the ending shattered my soul.

I can't believe how long I have to wait for the next on.. I almost wish I hadn't read this one yet.

Review: The Duchess War

The Duchess War The Duchess War by Courtney Milan
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I won't lie.. I was so confused for the first half of this book. There was a lot of talk about parliament and handbills and there was a huge secret with Minnie and I didn't understand if she was an actual lady and I didn't understand her "games" she was playing with everyone. Honestly the only reason I kept reading was Robert. I am in love with him. He was smart, handsome and shy. He didn't wasn't to be a duke but instead of turning into a lazy rake, he was trying to do something with his title. So I respected him and his shyness was just adorable.

Now while I didn't understand what was happening with all the games Minnie was playing with Robert, I think that no one else would have suited Robert. Especially for someone who wasn't born into privilege or up to a dukes social level. She wasn't cowed by him. So I do think they worked well together.

I liked them together.. when they finally came together. I didn't understand anything they talked about at first and honestly I still don't understand a lot of it. But that's 100% my fault. As soon as I hear anything to do with the government in a historical book, I tune it out. I tried to understand at first but then I was like meh boring.

Will I read the next book in the series? Probably... eventually.

Review: The Stone Prince

The Stone Prince The Stone Prince by Gena Showalter
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Um... kind of a miss for me. I can't really explain the exact reason why but I just really didn't like either one of the characters. Katie had a bunch of brothers who treated her like one of the guys.. they treated her like any brother would treat a younger sister but they also saved her from her father treating her like a "woman" (making food, cleaning, etc..) So in my opinion she has always had her brothers so I really don't understand her "I am more than a woman. Treat me more than a woman. I can do everything a man can" attitude. And then she would get insecure when she changed a tire in front of Jorlan because it was too manly... She was annoying as hell. She did that the whole freaking book.

And Jorlan was annoying as well.. just not as annoying. He was just being himself so I didn't mind him as much. The story was good if I could ignore Katie. I hated the ending. I don't want to give anything away but I just hated how everything wrapped up.

Yeah so not one of my favorite Gena Showalter books for sure. I'll read the next one because I would have liked this one a lot more if it weren't for Katie so hopefully the next characters are better!!

Review: Blood Submission

Blood Submission Blood Submission by L.E. Wilson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another amazing book in this series. Wilson is so great at writing heros that you hate and then love. Let's be real here, we are all friends, Dante was a jackass. And let's be real again, he was still a jackass at the end of the book but he was a lovable jackass.

I loved Laney! She was kidnapped, kept in basically a dungeon, and forced to give blood. Yet she was still smart ass-y and defiant and just all around awesome lady.

Im not going to get into everything because spoilers suck but this book was so freaking good! I love this series so so much and I am excited for the next book. Give me some Jesse love!! Whoo!!
