Review: Wintersong

Wintersong Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

So I understand that this was suppose to be written in lyrical dreamy words but I apparently am not intelligent enough to understand this type of writing. Or maybe my maturity level is just super low.. Because while I'm reading the beautiful, magical words all I'm thinking is "Did they freaking have sex or not?!" or "wait is this bitch dying?" or "WTF her nose started bleeding.. while maybe having sex"

I literally just got done reading it. Like the book is in my lap right now.. and I could NOT tell you what happened. I know there was a goblin king.. and a chick. and I know that this chick went into the underworld.. I think maybe to save her sister? Or because she wanted her soul to play music. and maybe she can only play in the underworld... I do not get why she couldn't play in the real world. But yeah ok the goblin king fell in love with her music or some shit like that. It was a bunch of weird things or maybe metaphors about music and souls. He thinks he's a monster but she's cool with it.. I think.. Oh and she's slowly dying. Like she's loosing her senses for whatever reason. ?????? did this book make sense to anyone?!

I was told at Barns and Noble that this book is a retelling of the Goblin King. And I don't give a shit about that. I have never even heard of that but I was like Goblins and romance? count me in. But no.. next time count me the eff out.

Review: Restore Me

Restore Me Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have so so many words and I have no idea who to put them so that they make any sense. I will say that I am completely shocked. This isn't at all how I thought this book was going to go but I loved it! There were a few moments where I thought Juliette went a little bit crazy and I was worried for her but eh she had reasons. And Warner. oh God Warner. He will forever be one of my favorite book boyfriends. I am SOOO freaking glad we got his POV in this book. I read the original trilogy in the last couple of days and I would have LOVED to have his POV in those. So I am excited that we get his thoughts.

I am kind of broken with how the book left off. I mean we find out some crazy shit about Juliette and the others.. yeah the others.. I am heart broken. I hate that I have to wait for the next book to come out. And I am nervous about where Mafi is taking us on this crazy adventure... nervous and excited. Sigh.. now I will just go sit and think about how much I love Warner. Bye.

Review: Hello Stranger

Hello Stranger Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I did not like this book at first. It got better but I almost put it down. I hated that our MC was named Garrett. It's such a small thing but as I listened to the audiobook I had to keep reminding myself that Garrett was a girl and that annoyed me. I also really didn't like Garrett. She goes on and on about how she is independent and how she doesn't need a man to make her whole but then a chapter later she is talking about marrying a man who hasn't mention anything about marriage. In fact he tells her that she will never see him again. And she's sitting in her room thinking about marriage. I just didn't like her character.

Ethan well.. I honestly don't have many thoughts on him. I will give him props for never lying to Garrett. He straight up told her his life was in peril and she wouldn't see him again.. even if that ended up being a lie.. it was the truth when he said it.

The story itself was fine. yeahhhh that's all I have. It was fine. Nothing spectacular but it was good and it entertained me.

I want West's story. OMG I want it now. I am head over heels in love with that man. I am so excited to get his story!

Review: Love and Other Scandals

Love and Other Scandals Love and Other Scandals by Caroline Linden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first awesome book I have read in awhile. I LOVED the characters. Joan was me. She was so relatable. She had her flaws but she learned accept them instead of whining about them. She was funny, smart and bold. She was juts all around fantastic. And lord have mercy, Tristan. He is my new favorite HR hero. I am beyond in love with him. I loved how they formed a relationship. It wasn't just out of the blue. It was a kind of hate to friends to love. I loved it!

I have kind of been in a weird reading slump. I have the romance package through audible so I have been trying out all kinds of new authors and a lot of them just don't work for me. I haven't ever read anything by this author but I will be reading more soon! I loved how she wrote her characters and this story!

Review: Silent Secrets

Silent Secrets Silent Secrets by Nikki Bolvair
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I spent my weekend reading this series.. and looking back Im like whhhhyyyy? It wasn't a bad series. Really it wasn't. It just wasn't great. There wasn't a whole lot of development and it's some serious insta love shit. I feel like there was a lot of un answered questions. Like the whole thing with Talia.. What the heck happened with her? I am also SOO disappointed that we didn't get a love scene of her first time with all the guys. It's a new adult book right? So why the heck couldn't we have seen some of that action? Oh well. Tis life.

This is almost like a guilty pleasure type book for me. Because I knew it wasn't great while I was reading it but I still couldn't stop.

I know that there is a 5th book. Well I think it was just an little bit extra that the author added in for the readers. And that is super awesome of her. But I don't think I will read it.. Hell I say that but I probably will. I have no self control.

Review: ALPHA

ALPHA ALPHA by Karina Espinosa
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

The MC is a nightmare. I mean a strait up crazy nightmare. She honestly always has been but I tried to look past it because I was into the semi romance. But now.. Now I can't take it any more. She acts like a child. And its not just like a couple actions NO every single thing she does is childish. Her temper is ridiculous. She stomps her freaking feet. I can't stand her. And I know I am on the 3rd book out of 4 but I honestly don't think I can continue with it. I wan't to make her real and kill her more than I want Jem Carstairs to be real and with me. And if you know anything about anything you know that is a huge freaking deal.

I also don't think it's believable that she got a bunch of other races to randomly attack the packs just for her. Yes I get that the Lunas are mistreated. Trust I freaking see that. But I just don't see the vampires giving a shit. They aren't allies. So it just makes zero sense that this no name chick came in and a month later she's got everyone attack each other just because she deems it necessary.

So yeah. I just don't think I can read another book with her going on and on about life not being fair. And her throwing a tantrum whenever someone tells her something she doesn't agree with.
